Delta Program 2011, IJsselmeer, Fresh Water and the Rotterdam Area
2010
Three Dutch photographers were each commissioned three of the nine major themes (localised or generic) that form the first Delta Program. The photographs are used in print, presentations, websites and exhibitions.
Delta Program in short:
We measure and know that temperature and sea level rise and our soil descents. We expect the extremes, wet and dry, to increase. That means we have to improve the protection of the Netherlands against the water.
With this in mind, a Delta Program has been installed. Under the direction of the Delta Commissioner concrete measures and provisions are prepared. With the Delta Program, the Dutch Gouvernment aims to keep The Netherlands economical and spatial attractive, keep it from disaster and damage and saveguards its fresh water supply.

Binckhorst
2006
The Binckhorst is an outdated business area, near the centre of The Hague. In 2007 the restructuring of the Binckhorst started, expected to be finished in the coming 20 years.
In cooperation with graphic designer Hein Eberson I laid out a plan to the concerned parties.
We planned to follow the major urban developments through my photography and a website. On the website not only my pictures would be shown, but also these of other people as well as their stories and comments about the development of the area. The project was planned to be a combination of photo-reportage, historiography and a platform by and for the residents of the Binckhorst and Den Haag.
Unfortunately, the plan was not carried out, caused by a lack of funding.

In these pictures I framed the city as a stage; the inhabitants became –mostly without them being aware- the actors.

"The garden feeds and comforts, inspires, simultaneously supplies action and peace of mind and is an inexhaustible source of talk over the fence. Your own garden is, when everything goes well, the rare outdoor space that is not a priori filled in by someone else."
