Haarlem, Garenkokerskade, Mons Aurea.
Harlem, Mons Aurea.
‘Mons Aurea’ is one of the most important examples of the Bossche School, an architectural movement from the post-war reconstruction period. The striking school building was festively opened in 1960 and was used as a school until mid-2014. The design and elements of the Bossche School are very well preserved in the building. That is why it has been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as one of the most important new national monuments in the period 1958 – 1965.
Nominated for the Lieven De Key Penning 2018.
Photographed on behalf of Wibaut Projectontwikkeling.
