Erschuettert
Erschuettert is about change and loss. It represents loss in the wake of historical, political, and -most of all, personal change. For this work I photographed former military locations near Berlin, which were abandoned by the Soviets shortly after German unification in 1990. The photos show the dismantled locations, once symbols of power, now being reclaimed by nature or converted into protected natural areas. This project marks my return to landscape photography as well as to a less premeditated way of working.
